The car batteries process — step by step
Full transparency on exactly what happens from the moment you get in touch to the moment we hand back the keys.
- 1
Test the old one
We load-test the battery and check the alternator output — sometimes the battery is fine and the alternator is the culprit.
- 2
Match the replacement
Correct CCA, size and technology (EFB / AGM for stop-start) chosen from van stock.
- 3
Memory saver connected
Radio codes, seat presets and clock preserved during the swap.
- 4
Fit & torque terminals
New battery clamped and terminals torqued to spec, then greased.
- 5
Recycle the old
Old battery taken away for proper recycling — included in the price.

Everything included with your car batteries
No hidden extras, no vague pricing. Here's exactly what you get, what we bring, what to have ready and what happens afterwards.
- Load test on the existing battery
- Alternator charging-system check
- Correct replacement battery from van stock (CCA and technology matched)
- Memory saver used to preserve radio codes, seats and clock
- Terminals cleaned, torqued and greased
- Old battery taken away for recycling
- Digital battery load tester (Midtronics-type)
- Bosch, Yuasa and Varta batteries (standard, EFB and AGM)
- 12V memory-saver pack
- Terminal cleaning brush + battery grease
- The reg (so we bring the right size and CCA)
- Radio code if your car needs one (Ford, older Renaults)
- Car cranks slowly or clicks when you turn the key
- Battery warning light or start-stop system disabled warning
- Battery over 5 years old (age is the main killer)
- Car sat unused for weeks and now won't start
The wrong battery in a stop-start car will fail in 6–12 months and can trigger battery-management fault codes. Fitting the right technology (EFB or AGM) matters as much as fitting the right size.
- A short journey after fitting is fine — the alternator will top up the battery within 30 minutes of driving
- AGM batteries may need registering with the car's BMS on some German cars — we'll do this with our diagnostic tool
Do you register AGM batteries with the BMS?+
Yes — we carry the diagnostic tool for BMW, Audi, VW, Mercedes and most stop-start systems.
What warranty do the batteries carry?+
3-year Yuasa/Bosch, 4-year Varta Silver, 5-year AGM. All handled by us if there's ever an issue.
